In 2020, when the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association Foundation was formed, Alissa (Lisa) Hurns was asked to serve as the Secretary. In 2022, Lisa was elected to serve as the President and Chair of the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association and continued in this capacity through the end 2024 where she continued the collaboration efforts with TMBA. Lisa now serves as the Treasurer of the Foundation. In December 2023, after working for other law firms, Lisa runs her own practice, Hurns Law, APC, where she focuses on employment law, business transactions and litigation, and estate planning. |
Lance Cotton first joined the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association as a Law School Ambassador in 2016 when he was a student at Chapman Dale E. Fowler School of Law. In 2019, Lance was the recipient of the TMBA Bar Takers Scholarship. He has served on the TMBA Board as a Member at Large in various roles including the Scholarship Committee, Judicial Appointment Committee and mentor to college and law students. Lance remains involved in the TMBA Foundation, where he serves as a Member at Large having previously held the role of treasurer. In his practice, Lance is a deputy district attorney for the Orange County District Attorney's Office currently assigned to the Gangs Unit. | This is Andrea Lewis' first year with the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association Foundation, where she serves as Secretary. She is a 2016 graduate of Howard Law School. After graduation, Andrea practiced law at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York and Greenberg Traurig LLP in Atlanta. She currently provides legal support to SNR Law Group. |
